Emirati singer and performer Alya has released a new version of her debut single, Lemonade, featuring Bahraini rap star Flipperachi. Bringing together two distinctive voices from the Gulf, the collaboration adds bilingual wordplay and regional humour to the track’s blend of contemporary pop, R&B and Arabic-influenced rhythms.
The release builds on the momentum of the original single released last month, which introduced Alya’s forthcoming debut EP and secured placements on Spotify’s US All New Pop and Fresh Finds Pop, alongside Apple Music’s US New in Pop and Pop Delights. These placements make Alya the first Emirati singer to achieve this recognition with an English-language pop single. The new version featuring Flipperachi has also secured placements on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlists in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, marking further international recognition for the collaboration.
Flipperachi builds on the song’s playful energy with a verse that moves naturally between English and Arabic. Through bilingual wordplay, Gulf humour and a direct reference to Dubai, his signature rap flow complements the track’s upbeat production and infectious rhythm, bringing the sound audiences know and love while adding a distinctly regional dimension. Together, Alya and Flipperachi turn Lemonade into a playful exchange between two unique voices from the Gulf.
The collaboration brings Alya together with one of Gulf hip-hop’s most recognisable voices. Known for his versatility and cross-cultural appeal, Flipperachi earned a Guinness World Record earlier this year when his viral hit Fa9la topped four Billboard Arabia charts, setting the record for the most Billboard Arabia charts topped at No. 1 by a single song.
Building on the original’s feel-good energy, the new version retains Lemonade’s celebration of confidence, chemistry and new romance on a young woman’s own terms. Catchy pop hooks, R&B grooves, warm Middle Eastern textures and Arab-influenced drums provide the backdrop to the duo’s lively back-and-forth, creating a sound rooted in the Gulf with international appeal.

When I first heard the track, I was actually in the middle of writing some new songs for my album and was going through a bit of a writer’s block.
