Spice Souq, Dubai
The Spice Souq is a traditional market in Deira’s Al Ras area, near Dubai Creek. Known for its colourful displays and distinctive aromas, the souq is lined with shops selling spices, herbs, dried fruits, nuts and other traditional ingredients from across the Middle East and Asia.
Visitors can explore the narrow lanes and browse products such as saffron, cardamom, cinnamon, dried chillies, rose petals and traditional spice blends. Many shopkeepers allow visitors to smell and sample products and can provide information about different spices and their uses.
The Spice Souq is located close to the Gold Souk and Dubai Creek, making it easy to include in a walking tour of Deira’s traditional markets and historic waterfront.
