Al Rabi Tower, Sharjah

Located on the mountains overlooking Khorfakkan, Al Rabi Tower is a historic watchtower built in 1915 as part of the city’s defensive network. Positioned high above the city, the tower helped monitor land routes and worked as part of a wider chain of defensive structures that included Khorfakkan Fort and Al Adwani Tower.

The tower is the destination of the Al Rabi Hiking Trail, a well-marked mountain route offering panoramic views of Khorfakkan, the surrounding mountains and the Gulf of Oman. The trail is approximately 4–5 km round trip and takes around 2–3 hours, with rest stops and historical information along the route. The moderate trail is considered suitable for beginners and families with some hiking experience.

Al Rabi Tower combines historical heritage with an outdoor adventure experience, making it one of Khorfakkan’s distinctive attractions. Its restored historic structure, mountain setting and panoramic viewpoints provide visitors with an opportunity to explore both the city’s defensive history and its natural landscape.
