Emirates Fine Arts Society, Sharjah
Established in 1980, the Emirates Fine Arts Society is a non-profit cultural organisation dedicated to promoting fine arts and supporting artists in the United Arab Emirates. Based in the Heart of Sharjah, the society has played an important role in developing and promoting the UAE’s visual arts scene, with a particular focus on nurturing Emirati artistic talent.
The society organises exhibitions, art events, training courses, workshops, seminars and lectures covering a wide range of disciplines, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography and Arabic calligraphy. It also represents Emirati artists at local and international art events and provides opportunities for artists to develop their skills and connect with the wider arts community.
One of its most important annual programmes is the Emirates Fine Arts Society Annual Exhibition, one of the country’s longest-running art exhibitions. The exhibition brings together artists working across different mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture, installation art and ceramics, providing an overview of developments in contemporary and modern visual art in the UAE. The society also participates in wider cultural initiatives and festivals throughout Sharjah.
