Maraya Art Centre, Sharjah
Maraya Art Centre is a non-profit creative organisation located in Al Qasba, Sharjah. Established in 2006, the centre supports contemporary art and emerging artists through exhibitions, creative programmes, research, workshops and public events. It has become an important part of Sharjah’s contemporary arts scene.
The centre operates several creative initiatives, including the Maraya Art Gallery, 1971 Design Space, Maraya Art Park, Maraya Residencies, Jedariya and Maraya Project Space. Its exhibitions feature local, regional and international artists across a range of disciplines, while its public programmes include workshops, lectures, talks and other art-related events.
Maraya also maintains its own growing art collection, developed through commissioned works and acquisitions since 2010, with a particular focus on supporting and documenting emerging artistic talent from the Gulf region. The centre also provides a resource library and video archive accessible to the public.
