Fujairah Museum

Located just south of Fujairah Fort, Fujairah Museum was opened in 1991 and is one of the more established archaeology and local history museums on the UAE’s East Coast. Its collection focuses on archaeological finds from excavations across the emirate, particularly from the sites of Qidfa and Bithnah, with exhibits spanning from the early Bronze Age through to the Islamic period.

The museum is organised into several halls. One is dedicated to traditional occupations such as agriculture, fishing, pottery and weaving; another displays ancient weapons, costumes and utensils, including an early-20th-century rifle known as the Khedewi; a further hall houses artefacts such as steatite and chlorite vessels, historic coins and jewellery. A notable exhibit is a carved bowl made from an ostrich egg, dated to around 2,200 years old.

Fujairah Museum is a small museum that can comfortably be explored within 30 to 60 minutes, making it a convenient stop alongside Fujairah Fort and Fujairah Heritage Village. Visitor hours vary between sources, so checking directly with the museum before visiting is recommended.
