Umm Al Quwain Wall
The Umm Al Quwain Wall is a historic defensive structure located in the old city of Umm Al Quwain. Built during the rule of Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Mualla in the early 19th century, the wall formed part of the emirate’s traditional defensive system and remains an important landmark reflecting the history of the old settlement.
The wall is associated with three historic towers: Al Liwarah Tower, Al Wostani Tower and Mansour Tower, also known as Al Khor Tower, Masoum Tower and Al Bahr Tower. Together, these structures illustrate how the historic settlement was protected and monitored, while providing insight into the traditional defensive architecture of Umm Al Quwain.
Located close to several other heritage sites, including Umm Al Quwain Fort, Bakhoot Tower and Al Ghella Archaeological Site, the wall can be incorporated into a wider exploration of the emirate’s historic town. Its location makes it particularly useful as part of a heritage-focused walking or sightseeing route through old Umm Al Quwain.
