Zayed National Museum, Abu Dhabi
Located in the Saadiyat Cultural District, Zayed National Museum is the national museum of the United Arab Emirates, exploring the history, heritage and culture of the country through the life and legacy of its founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The museum covers the UAE’s history from ancient times to the present day, presenting archaeological discoveries, historical objects and stories that reflect the country’s cultural development. Its galleries also examine Sheikh Zayed’s values, leadership and role in the formation of the UAE.
Designed by Foster + Partners, the museum is centred around seven distinctive towers inspired by the wings of falcons. The building forms part of the Saadiyat Cultural District alongside institutions including Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi.
Beyond its exhibitions, Zayed National Museum operates as a centre for research, learning and public engagement, with educational programmes and cultural activities designed to deepen understanding of the UAE’s heritage and identity.
