Heart of Sharjah is the historic heart of the emirate and one of the UAE’s most important heritage and cultural districts. Located near Sharjah Corniche, the district has been restored to preserve the traditional character of old Sharjah, with coral-stone houses, wind towers, narrow lanes, courtyards, museums, galleries and traditional souqs.
Visitors can explore restored heritage buildings and cultural attractions including the Sharjah Heritage Museum, Bait Al Naboodah and the Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, while discovering traditional markets, artisan workshops, cafés and cultural spaces throughout the district. The area is also home to important Sharjah Art Foundation venues and regularly hosts exhibitions, workshops, performances and other cultural programmes.
